NBI clearance center opens in Bogo City

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - The National Bureau of Investigation-7 is set to open its Clearance Center in Bogo City today.

NBI Manila Information and Communications Technology head, Willy Abuan, installed the Information System Software last Friday.

The Clearance Center is located on the second floor of the old municipal hall now occupied by the Bogo Water District, at the corner of San Vicente and cor. D. Rubio streets, near the port area.

City Administrator Max Suico said the area is accessible to clients coming from the neighboring towns in northern Cebu and even from Leyte and Masbate.

Last Friday, a test run was performed with Suico, City Councilor Jose Brainard Mayol, the proponent of the project; City Human Resource Management Officer Slavsky Ybañez, and City IT Officer Roger Tonacao as actual applicants doing the complete procedures in securing the NBI Clearance.  Suico said the event today is just a soft opening as they will schedule a formal opening soon.

He said Mayor Celestino Martinez Jr. has been requesting the facility after the NBI Clearance Center in Tuburan town seized operation.

“Dugay na nag-request si Mayor ana, strategic man ang Bogo, karon gitugutan na gyud,” Suico said.

Like in other satellite clearance centers, the local government unit provides ample space, facilities, and equipment.  Suico said the center will be manned by employees of the city government although it would be supervised by organic personnel of the NBI.   (FREEMAN)
