CCMC to launch P7.2M data system

CEBU, Philippines - Despite its present situation, Cebu City Medical Center is launching on its 53rd founding anniversary this Saturday a centralized data system amounting to P7.2 million.

 The hospital is currently sharing a building with the Bureau of Fire Protection after its own structure was severely damaged by the magnitude 7.2 earthquake in October last year.

CCMC personnel services head Rey Chris Panugaling said the city hospital will introduce a sophisticated “Hospital Information System” powered by Bizbox 8, a high version of hospital data system.

 It has a capacity of “full integration from front-end transactions to back-end accounting”, including patient services, medical records, nursing services, ancillaries, billing and collection, inventory management, financial accounting.

The amount is charged against the 2013 appropriation of the City Management Information Computer Services Office.  He said the system is very “effective and efficient” which is also used by some medical institutions in the city.

 For instance, he said the status of the patients can easily be checked, systematic bills inquiry and admission, inventory of stocks is more transparent, among others.

 “Centralized na ang tanang procedures and transactions around the hospital from the admission to discharge. Mas quick ang pag-deliver sa services and everything is encoded since this is a friendly system acceptable around the globe,” Panugaling said. (FREEMAN)
