5 arrested in drug buy-bust
CEBU, Philippines - Five people were arrested during a separate buy-bust operations resulting in the confiscation of P15,000 worth of illegal drugs.
Julius Malazarte, 32, and Johnny Flores, 25, were arrested by the operatives of the City Intelligence Branch at 9 a.m. yesterday in Sitio NGA, Barangay Lahug.
Malazarte, a former seaman, is said to be a level 3 drug pusher selling drugs to call center agents in Lahug. In fact, a female call center agent was also invited for questioning during the operation.
Inspector Gomersendo Mandawe, CIB deputy chief, said they received information about suspected persons frequenting Flores’ house prompting them to conduct surveillance operation.
“Dunay nitawag nga silingan nga daghang tawo mag-adtoan magsuyop amo sad nga gi-validate. Ang duha previously convicted sa section 12, naay nagtip nga nag-operate na sad,” Mandawe said.
“Ang subject si Flores, didto sad ning usa pero pariha ni sila’g negosyo nga baligya,” Mandawe added.
The police recovered eight small packs of suspected shabu from the suspects.
In a separate operation, CIB personnel also arrested Jullios Barriga, 24, Jhonas Villamor, 30, and Joffrey Impenida, 22, Sunday night in Sitio Riverside, Barangay Sambag II, Cebu City.
The police seized 41 packs of shabu from Barriga while the two other suspects were in possession of drug paraphernalia.
PO3 Noel Bautista, team leader, said they were conducting patrol when they chanced upon Barriga selling drugs to Villamor and Impineda.
The suspects will be charged for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (FREEMAN)
