Pa arrested for “raping” 13-year-old daughter

Grace Melanie L. Lacamiento - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - A man was arrested after allegedly raping and abusing his 13-year-old daughter inside their residence in Ipil-Ipil, Barangay, Capitol Site, Cebu City Wednesday evening.

The daughter reported the incident to the police after her 43-year-old father allegedly punched her on her left arm after she refused to have sexual intercourse with him.

The Freeman is withholding the name of the father and daughter due to the sensitivity of the case.

Chief Inspector Wildemar Tiu, Fuente Police Station chief, said that the victim confessed she was sexually abused by her father last September 14 at 7 p.m.

She also revealed that the sexual exploitation was done several times since May this year.

“Sugdan daw og haplos-haplos tunga sa gabii o sa kadlawon kon kanus-a natulog na iyang mga igsuon,” Tiu said.

The child sought police assistance last Wedneday afternoon and was accompanied by her grandmother.

However, the suspect denied that he raped his daughter since May but admitted that he only did it this month, particularly last September 3 and 13. He added that he was drunk when the incident happened.

“Wa nako unaya akong anak. Wa tuyoa mabuhat to nako. Nadala ra sa bisyo, nadala ra sa inom. Lain akong panan-aw. Kon di ko makainom, di man ko mag-in-ani,” he added.

He said he thought that his daughter who was lying next to him was his wife since he was told that the mother of the victim has returned to their house. The suspect was found to be already separated from the victim’s mother.

“Natu’g na mi ato. Nigakos siya nako, nigakos sab ko. Abi nako akong asawa kay nakainom lage. Ako diay tong anak,” he added.

He is currently detained at the Fuente Police Station.  (FREEMAN)
