New LTFRB-7 chief expected as Cuizon leaves position
CEBU, Philippines - Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board-7 regional director Ahmed Cuizon confirmed reports that he will be soon vacating his post.
“Yes, balik na ko sa airport as assistant general manager. Ako-a lang humanon ang entire month of September as LTFRB regional director then I will assume my new position,” said Cuizon.
Cuizon said he does not know yet as to who will replace him once he vacates his current post.
Cuizon was appointed LTFRB-7 regional director in 2010 by President Benigno Aquino III.
Nigel Paul Villarete, MCIA general manager, said that Cuizon will replace the position of AGM Romeo Bersonda, who already retired.
The AGM position though has long been vacant as Bersonda, who was then the airport operation’s department manager, was only holding the said position on a concurrent capacity.
Cuizon said that he is still waiting for the clearance from LTFRB before he will assume his new post.
During his stint as LTFRB-7 regional director, Cuizon said that he was able to improve the image of the agency and to some extent, institute some reforms.
Some of his notable projects include the “Oplan I Love You” which goes after taxi drivers overcharging its passengers as well as the fielding of buses during transport strikes.
Prior to his stint as LTFRB-7 regional director, Cuizon was the Public Affairs manager of MCIA from 1996 to 2010. — (FREEMAN)
