CEBU, Philippines - Alleged 'Salisi' gang members were captured by Closed-Circuit Television cameras victimizing a Japanese national inside a store of a mall in Cebu on Wednesday.

The CCTV footage revealed that the victim, Takeshi Sakurai, 46, from Tokyo, Japan and a resident of Barangay Banilad, Cebu City, was waiting for his item at a CDR-King Store in Robinsons Cybergate when two unidentified women pretending to be customers went near him.

In a matter of seconds, one of the two women fished Sakurai's mobile phone out of his sling bag with the victim completely unaware.

It was only after the two women fled when Sakurai realized that his phone, an iPhone 5 worth P40,000, had gone missing.

Based on the CCTV footage, the woman who took the phone had white complexion, has a big build, and is approximately between 40-45 years old. She was wearing a sleeveless dress and a pair of pedals.  Meanwhile, the other woman wore a brown jacket, had dark complexion, a smaller build, and between 35 - 40 years old.

Both women were bringing sling bags at that time and were bringing umbrellas.

Police are now looking into footage to determine the identity of the suspects. —/JMO (FREEMAN)
