Sonny is richest Toledo City exec
CEBU, Philippines - Mayor John Henry Osmeña is the richest Toledo City, Cebu official, his 2013 Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth shows.
According to the document which he submitted to the Office of the Ombudsman-Visayas, Osmeña has P148.7 million in net worth, or total assets minus total liabilities.
He listed himself as a stockholder of Pamplona Plantation Holdings, Pamplona Plantation Golf & Country Club, Pamplona Plantation Leisure Corp., and Pueblo De Pamplona, Inc. all in Pamplona, Negros Oriental.
Osmeña, who has no spouse and children listed in his SALN, disclosed that he has P37 million in real properties that include agricultural lot in Tuburan, Cebu; residential lot in Dumaguete (Sibulan), Negros Oriental; residential lot in Los Baños, Laguna; agricultural lot in Pangamihan, Toledo; residential lot in Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental; residential house and lot in Silay City, Negros Occidental; and two condominiums.
His personal properties are P5.9 million cash in bank; Toyota Hilux and Isuzu Altera he acquired in 2010 and 2013, respectively, worth P2.7 million, stocks in various companies worth P113.7 million, and household furniture/appliances worth P3.6 million, for a total of P125.9 million.
Osmeña has P162.9 million in total assets and P14.2 million in liabilities. He declared in his SALN that he has no relatives in government service.
Osmeña was followed by City Councilor Louis Nicholas Espinosa who got P12.8 million in net worth.
His real properties totaled P10.5 million and include 11 residential lots and Philex Mining and Cebu Holdings, Inc. stocks.
Espinosa has P2.4 million in personal properties with no liabilities. His personal properties include furniture, pieces of jewelry, musical instruments, computer and accessories and a Yamaha Vega motorcycle.
His business interests and financial connections are Station One Computer, Farmacia Louise and Looie Beach Resort. He declared Helen Jill Espinosa, his sister-in-law, as his relative in the government service.
Next to Espinosa was City Councilor Merly Abad who had P2.11 in total assets and P55,000 in liabilities.
Officials who have below P2 million in net worth are City Councilors Antonio Borja, Jr. (P1.8 million), Rogelio Caburnay (1.2 million), Helen Jill Espinosa (P500,000) and Zosimo Abellanosa (P490,000). (FREEMAN)
