One dead as motorcycles collide
CEBU, Philippines - A woman died and three others were injured, including a four-year-old boy, in a collision of two motorcycles in Sitio Cantipla, Barangay Tabunan, Cebu City past 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Joy-Ann Rusaut, 29, died on the spot after she was thrown off the motorcycle she was riding, together with her family.
Rowen Rusaut, Joy-Ann’s husband and the one driving the motorcycle, and their son Josh Kyle, were severely injured and were immediately brought to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.
Cirilo Capul, 38, the driver of the other motorcycle sustained injuries.
Rusaut was reportedly heading to Asturias, Cebu from Cebu City while Capul was heading to the city.
For still unknown reasons, they collided with each other resulting to the death of Joy-Ann.
In an interview with Johan Aguanta, relative of Rowen, he said that Joy-Ann apparently gave her helmet to her son and when the accident happened she was thrown off the motorcycle head first resulting to her instantaneous death.
Traffic investigator, SPO1 Porferio Lim Jr., is still conducting the investigation to determine who is at fault between Rusaut and Capul. (FREEMAN)
