Man “rapes” young cousin
CEBU, Philippines - Police arrested a 22-year-old man who was accused of raping his 12-year-old cousin at an apartment in Barangay Parian, Cebu City at 2 a.m. last Friday.
Parian police caught up with the suspect inside the apartment in Sanciangko Street shortly after the incident (names being withheld by The Freeman due to the nature of the case).
The mother, who reported the incident to the police, said that her daughter complained to her about what her cousin did.
Investigation revealed that the victim was sleeping inside her room when she noticed someone touching her private parts.
She was awakened when she felt pain, as if something was inserted in her genitals.
When she opened her eyes, she saw her first cousin lying next to her and his hand was still inserted in her private part.
The suspect, upon noticing that the girl was awake, got up immediately and went to another room as if nothing happened.
The victim ran to her mother and told her what happened.
The suspect is now detained at Parian Police Station and will be charged with rape in relation to child abuse.
The victim was brought to Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center’s pink room for physical and psychological evaluation. (FREEMAN)
