Bryner L. Diaz - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - A woman has claimed that the unidentified man found dead in Barangay Babag, Cebu City Monday is her missing son.

Macaria Aninipok of Barangay Apas identified the man as her son Albert Aninipok, 31, through the scar in his leg and his hair.

The body of the man, believed to be a victim of summary execution, was placed in a bag and was dumped in the mountain barangay.

â€œPagkakita nako sa iyang batiis mao man gyud naay pahak sa bildo, morag naghilab akong tiyan pagkakita nako niya wa ko kasabot sa akong gibati,” she added.

She said that her son had been missing for a month and was last seen on Holy Week.

On Tuesday, she said she heard that a body was found inside a travelling bag dumped in Babag II so she decided to check it out.

She said that a few weeks ago, she dreamt about her son a number of times. She said she had no idea that her son was already brutally killed.

â€œSige man kog padamgo niya sir, ana ko kung ikaw man gani na padamgoha lang ko sa nagbuhat nimo ani,” she said.

She admitted that her son was involved in some wrongdoings.

PO1 Merlou Laborte, homicide investigator, said the body had to be subjected for autopsy to check the cause of death.

The result is expected to be out anytime today. — (FREEMAN)
