More than a hundred to join Suroy-Suroy tour in Camotes
CEBU, Philippines - Cebu Vice Governor Agnes Magpale said that over a hundred tourists have already registered for the Suroy-Suroy Sugbo in Camotes Island from May 1 to 3.
“Ready na ang Camotes. I think more than 100 na ang nag-sign up ug nag bayad para sa Suroy-Suroy,†she said, adding that there are additional destinations laid for the tourists.
Magpale assured that the island has already recovered after super typhoon Yolanda ravaged the place.
It was reported earlier that Pilar, a town in Camotes, would not be included in the tourism program of the Cebu provincial government.
However, Magpale said a group would separately be going to Pilar for the rehabilitation program.
“Duna man gud ko’y laing grupo nga moadto sa Pilar nga Balik Bahay or Balik Balay, kato ning mohatag og houses in Pilar, i-dungan lang nato para mausa ang biyahe, mag-reserve pud ta para nila,†she said.
Magpale added that there’s a possibility that Cebu Governor Hilario Davide III would join the tourism program but would only stay for a day.
She said that she might also be coming but assured that she’ll be paying for the amount.
“Ako pod, murag moadto, pero paying man. Ang dili paying ang members sa Suroy-Suroy Commission. Gi-limit man pod namo,†she said. —/ATO (FREEMAN)
