Holy Week preparation LTFRB-7 to conduct bus inspection

CEBU, Philippines - The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board-7 will be inspecting buses this week in line with the Oplan Exodus Ligtas Biyahe 2014 of the Department of Transportation and Communications.

LTFRB-7 director Ahmed Cuizon said that this is to ensure that buses plying in the different routes are road worthy.

Cuizon said that inspection will also be made to ensure no colorum buses will take advantage of the season because of the expected influx of passengers during the Holy Week.

Bus drivers and conductors will likewise be subjected to random drug testing.

LTFRB-7 will issue special permits to allow buses to operate out of its regular routes.

Joint help desks of the LTFRB-7 and Land Transportation Office-7 will be put up in selected bus terminals to assist passengers, issuance of special permits, and roadworthiness/ franchise inspections.

Earlier, regional police officials have also assured that it’s all systems go and security measures are now in place in Cebu province for Holy Week. (FREEMAN)
