Cop, two others ‘beat’ Korean, preggy partner

Angelica S. Bertos - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - A policeman, a dismissed policeman and a driver allegedly beat a Korean and his pregnant live-in partner Thursday evening at Takira Homes, Barangay Talamban, Cebu City.

The policeman of the Regional Intelligence Division of the Police Regional Office-7 and the driver allegedly hit the Korean  in the jaw.

When the Korean’s live-in partner, an 8-month pregnant, tried to intervene, she was allegedly pushed away by policeman.

A former police officer, who was dismissed for a murder case, also joined the policeman in hitting the victims.

The incident happened when a lending collector and the suspects served a final demand letter to the Korean for an amount he reportedly owed.

The Korean denied that he owed such amount, claiming that he brought with him P6 million when he came in the country.

Personnel of Cebu City Police Station 8 asked the victims to undergo medical examinations and referred the matter to Barangay Talamban. (FREEMAN)
