Woman files complaints against town vice mayor, nephews, cops
CEBU, Philippines - A woman has filed criminal complaints before the Office of the Ombudsman-Visayas against Asturias town vice mayor, his two nephews and members of the Philippine National Police.
Helen Completo, a resident of the adjacent town of Balamban, alleged that she was forcibly brought to the Cebu Provincial Police Office for interrogation about the assassination plot against Asturias Vice Mayor Joel Dumdum.
“I saw my mother in a wheel chair, who was at the other house, and I saw her crying and I got worried and full of anxiety and when I reached the vehicle I saw the Ford Ranger pickup of Vice Mayor Joel Dumdum and the pink car of Dean Dumdum parked at a distance,†the affidavit reads.
At the CPPO Headquarters, she said that she was again asked if she knew about the plan to kill Dumdum of which she said she has no idea.
Completo filed complaints for kidnapping, serious illegal detention and torture against Vice Mayor Dumdum, Dean, Dave Dumdum, PO2 Leah Juarez of CPPO, a certain police officer Logronio of CPPO and four unidentified men of CPPO.
She likewise filed an administrative complaint for grave misconduct, abuse of authority, and gross oppression against the respondents.
Lawyer Rex Fernandez, the legal counsel of Completo, confirmed to The FREEMAN that the complaint was filed yesterday afternoon. — (FREEMAN)
