CEBU, Philippines -  An alleged drug pusher was arrested by the police yesterday morning in Barangay Maguikay, Mandaue City after reportedly pointing his gun at his neighbors.

Mario “Daryl” Loberanis, 39, was allegedly under the influence of illegal drugs when he was arrested for pointing his pistol at Crisanto Roble and his daughter, Christine Roble.

Recovered from him was a KG9 sub-machine gun pistol with three 9mm bullets, two small packets of shabu and a Honda XRM motorcycle.

PO3 Antonio Discartin, desk officer of Police Station 4, said that they received the alarm past 10 a.m. from Loberanis’ neighbors.

When they arrived at the scene, the police said they immediately recognized Loberanis who currently has a pending homicide case in court.

“Nasuko ra man kuno ni nga gitan-aw sa amahan ug anak nga niagi sa tugkaran unya kana siya masuko gyud kuno na ug tutukan,” Discartin said in a phone interview.

The police also called the Special Weapons and Tactics who later on caught Loberanis inside his residence.

“Daan na man ni nanganti nga di magpadakop nga buhi mao to gi-timing ang iyang arrest nga wala siya makabantay,” Discartin said.

Loberanis was the suspect in the shooting of a person in Maguikay bridge last November. A murder case was filed against him but was downgraded to homicide after he surrendered to the Mandaue City Police Office.

He posted bail for his temporary liberty.

Police will be filing charges for violation of Section 11 of RA 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition Act.  (FREEMAN)
