CEBU, Philippines -  The Cebu Provincial Government commended two Cebu City policewomen who were awarded last month as part of the Top Ten Outstanding Policewomen of the Philippines.

Inspector Arieza Otida and SPO1 Ruth Violango were lauded by the provincial government for exceptionally performing their duties and responsibilities as part of the law enforcing body.

Otida and Violango are detailed at Cebu City Police Office as Pre-Charge Investigator of the Investigation and Detection Management Bureau and Homicide Investigator, respectively. They bested 40 other candidates nationwide.

In an approved resolution, the provincial government extended its appreciation “for giving honor to the province of Cebu as well as inspiring other policewomen to excel in their respective fields.”

Otida first studied Mass Communication but later on shifted to Political Science. Violango, on the other hand, was a former beauty queen who finished Psychology and Criminology and holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration.

In a previous interview with Violango, she said that Violango said that one of the judges explained in her speech during the awarding ceremony of the top policewomen that it was their work attitude that made them win.

Violango said that the award poses as a challenge for her to strive harder as she dreams to become the Homicide Section chief one day.

Otida for her part expressed her happiness in the award and that PNP women are given importance in their field of service.   (FREEMAN)
