P80T taken from pharmacy in Banilad

May Miasco, USJ-R /JMO - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - A pharmacy in Barangay Talamban, Cebu lost at least P80,000 to two armed robbers last Sunday afternoon.

PO2 Roger Castillo of the Talamban Police Station said the suspects entered Rose Pharmacy at close to 3 p.m.

One of the two reportedly approached the counter and pretended to be a customer. Moments later, the two men pulled out their guns and declared a hold up, ordering the assistant pharmacist, Jennifer Evana, 28, and three other employees to drop to the floor as they demanded for money.

It so happened that the security guard, Norberto Carreon, 62, was still changing as he was about to assume post, thus, he was not able to do anything. He was also ordered to lie on the floor face down.

The robbers fled the pharmacy on board a motorcycle right after one of the employees handed to them at least P80,000.

"Ni-ana man gud ang mga tulisan nga kun dili sila mohatag sa kwarta, pamusilon sila (They told us that they will shoot us if we would not give them money)," Castillo said.

Unfortunately, the pharmacy does not have a Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) camera to record the incident. No one was reportedly hurt.

Investigation revealed that one of the suspect is about 5'6" in height and was wearing an orange t-shirt, a dark jacket and pants while the other is estimated to be about 5'7" in height and was wearing a black jacket and shorts. Both men were wearing full-face helmets at the time of the heist.  (FREEMAN)
