Goods to be sold in Northern Cebu at lower prices – DTI

CEBU, Philippines - Residents in Northern Cebu especially those affected by the typhoon will have a chance to buy basic commodities at a lower price for two days on November 29 and 30.

Zaide Bati-on, chief of consumer welfare of  the Department of Trade and Industry – Cebu Province said the “Diskwento Caravan” will be held at the sports complex in Daanbantayan town.

“Mas ubos gyud ni ang presyo sa mga baligya nga among dad-on kay distributor’s price man ni (We will be selling the goods with the distributor’s price, which is lower than the retail price),” Bati-on told The Freeman.

Bati-on said eleven distributors will take part in the caravan to sell laundry soap, bath soap, shampoo, hotdog, kitchen wares, tissue, bisquits, construction materials, milk, and coffee, among others.

The distributors include Atifacts Innovation in Motion, Unitop, Virginia Foods, Ever Consumer, Ever Dynamics, Everlink, Federal North Hardware, P and G, Liwayway Marketing, Dranix Distributors and Vmat.

The National Food Authority-7 will also join the caravan to sell rice.

Since last week, DTI brought the caravan to six cities in Samar and Leyte, including Ormoc City (November 14); Maasin City (November 18); Baybay City and Calbayog City Samar (November 19); Catbalogan City (November 20); and Tacloban City (November 22).

Bati-on added they will assess after the two-day caravan in Daan Bantayan, if they will have another caravan in areas affected by Yolanda in the northern towns. — (FREEMAN)
