Capitol to hold local jobs fair

CEBU, Philippines - The Province of Cebu is set to hold a local job fair on Sunday, December 1, at the Capitol Social Hall to provide jobseekers the opportunity to be employed.

The Capitol Public Employment Service Office (PESO) is expecting 35 participating establishments including job recruitment agencies.

Among the companies expected in the local job fair are Cebu Mitsumi, Inc., International Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Norkis Group of  Companies, Asianwide Refreshments Corp. (RC Cola, Phils.), Cebu Progress Commercial, Call Center 101, P.J. Lhuillier Group of Companies, and Duty Free Philippines.

Interested parties are encouraged to register at the PESO Capitol office for their priority numbers and convenience on the day of the job fair.

Resume and other pertinent papers are required on the actual day of the job fair.

On the same day, the Social Security System, National Statistics Office, PhilHealth, and National Bureau of  Investigation will be attending to the needs of  the  applicants and other interested individuals.

Meanwhile, PESO Capitol head, Dr. Mathea Baguia, said that her office has set up a Help Desk section to assist displaced workers due to typhoon.

A licensed special recruitment staff from Manila stationed at the PESO office to conduct job recruitment for overseas jobs.

The 7.2 magnitude earthquake last October 15 did not also stopped PESO Capitol from holding the overseas job fair last October 20 at the parking lot after the main building was temporarily vacated due to damages.

The overseas job fair was the second for this year while the local one on Sunday is also the Capitol is holding this year.

PESO Capitol is set to have three job fairs each for overseas and local per year.— (FREEMAN)
