Brgy chief ‘took’ goat, pig, bike
CEBU, Philippines - A former town councilor of Ronda, Cebu has filed criminal and administrative complaints before the Cebu Provincial Prosecutor’s Office against their barangay captain.
In her affidavit, Perla Rosales alleged that Eugene Miñoza of Tupas, Ronda, is liable for attempted murder, carnapping, two counts of theft, threats, dishonesty, grave abuse of authority, grave misconduct and conduct unbecoming of a public official.
Rosales alleged that on June 27, 2013, Miñoza, with intent to kill, allegedly “strafe(d)†their residence. She said they reported what happened to the Ronda Police.
She said that aside from that incident, Miñoza took the motorcycle of one Castor Toledo last July 7. Two days after, she said, the barangay captain took a pregnant goat without the consent of the owner, Maribeth Endrina.
She further alleged that on July 20, 2013, Miñoza threatened Elenita Villagracia that if she will not vote for him during the Oct. 28 barangay elections her house would be burned. The incident was likewise recorded with the police.
Rosales said that on August 4, 2013, Miñoza took and butchered her pig without her permission.
During their confrontation the following day, she said Miñoza admitted the theft to the police investigator and would pay the value of the pig.
However, she refused to settle the matter to teach Miñoza a lesson.
With the pendency of the investigation, Rosales asked for the preventive suspension of Miñoza, who is set to answer the allegations. (FREEMAN)
