Teacher loses cash, valuables to thieves

Ria Mae Y. Booc - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - A school teacher lost almost P150,000 worth of cash and valuables to two unidentified thieves who broke into her apartment in Barangay Sudlonon, Bogo City last Tuesday afternoon.

Analyn Suson, 32, left her apartment at 3:30 p.m. to fetch her daughter at the school. To her surprise, the apartment was already open when she returned.

Stolen were two pieces iPod, camera, Black Berry phone, laptop, three pieces of gold necklace with pendant, Chinese gold men’s bracelet, ladies’ ring with diamond, and cash worth P2,500.

PO3 Jim Susvilla said that the unidentified burglars were allegedly on board a motorcycle.

Susvilla said that the burglars entered the house by destroying the padlock and the doorknob of the main door.

Susvilla believes that the victim may have been monitored by the burglars who appear to be familiar with the house.

â€œMga minuto lang sa iyang pagbiya gisulod dayon iyang balay pero ang pikas apartment na nga kauban niya nga maestra ang nakadiskubre,” the police said.

Susvilla said they already have suspects who are just local boys. The police believe that they can make arrest soon and recover the stolen items.  (FREEMAN)
