“Big time pusher” nabbed in Tisa

Niña G. Sumacot-Abenoja - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - An alleged level two drug pusher was arrested Wednesday night by the operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-7 during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Tisa, Cebu City.

Charlie Parba, 34, was caught in the act of selling a pack of shabu to two undercover PDEA agents. The anti-drug operatives arranged a drug transaction with the suspect at 10 p.m. in Sitio Mangga.

Following Parba’s arrest, the law enforcers seized from his possession 10 packs of shabu worth P250,000.

PDEA 7 Director Julius Navales described Parba as level two drug pusher who can dispose off at least 200 grams of shabu in a week. He is operating in the entire Barangay Tisa. Parba is allegedly on the PDEA watchlist of drug personalities in Cebu.

Parba, in an interview, denied being a level two drug pusher, although he admitted selling illegal drugs. He claimed that he was not arrested in a buy-bust operation. According to him, the two PDEA operatives picked him up in Barangay Tejero and brought him to his house in Barangay Tisa.

Parba said he was surprised that when they reached his house there were already 10 packs of shabu supposedly confiscated from him.

Navales however defended their operation. He said it was legitimate and that the suspect was even placed under surveillance.

Parba is currently detained at the PDEA 7 detention cell while a case for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 is being prepared for filing against him. (FREEMAN)
