Korean loses phone to beggars

CEBU, Philippines - A 16-year-old Korean lost his cellular phone to two minors begging outside a hotel along Archbishop Reyes Avenue in Barangay Kamputhaw last Monday evening.

The suspects, ages 14 and 15, were immediately arrested by the security guards of the hotel and were turned over to the police.

The victim was walking outside the hotel at 11:30 p.m. when the suspects came begging for alms. One of the suspects took the victim’s Samsung Galaxy S3 phone worth P14,346.50.

The hotel guards noticed the incident and arrested the two minors before they could flee.

The suspects were turned over to the Theft and Robbery Section of the Cebu City Police Office. — (FREEMAN)
