CEBU, Philippines - Around 44,000 public school teachers in Central Visayas have not received their performance-based bonus (PBB) yet.

Department of Education (DepEd) 7 Regional Director Carmelita Dulangon explained that they were able to submit the requirements needed to the DepEd Central Office.

These include the enrolment rate for each school, evaluation on the utilization of funds given to the school principals and the results of the National Achievement Test (NAT) for each school.

The individual performance of each teacher was also rated accordingly as well as the performance of the school and the division, which were evaluated by the regional office.

The regional office, on the other hand, was evaluated by the Central Office.

A DepEd officer who asked not to be named said the evaluation took time because of the process it had to go through and the number of teachers that need to be evaluated.

As of now, the DepEd 7 is still waiting for the results of the evaluation conducted by the Central Office and she assured that all teachers were included.

Dulangon is hopeful that the PBB will be released within the year.  (FREEMAN)
