Prov’l, district hospitals to get new ambulances

CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu Provincial Government will purchase six units of ambulance worth P7.2 million to be distributed to provincial and district hospitals in the Province.

Last Monday, the Provincial Board authorized acting governor Agnes Magpale to enter into a contract with Nissan Cebu Distributors. Inc.

Board Members Peter John Calderon and Wilfredo Caminero, both of the second district of Cebu, sponsored the resolution for the authorization. 

Nissan won in the bidding conducted by the Bids and Awards Committee of the Province of Cebu.

Integrated Provincial Health Office chief Cristina Giango said each unit is already equipped with the necessary transfer services, oxygen, stretchers and other accessories. 

The ambulances will be given to  the provincial hospitals in Carcar City, Danao City, Bogo City and in the town of Balamban.

The other unit will be given to Badian District Hospital and sixth unit will be given either to the town of Malabuyoc or Oslob, all in southern Cebu.

Magpale has to sign the contract with Nissan before her stint as acting governor ends on Wednesday, June 19.

Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia is expected to return to office on this day after serving her suspension for six months and continue serving the remaining days of her term until noontime of June 30.

Garcia was elected as representative of the third district of the Cebu while Hilario “Junjun” Davide III will replace her as governor. (FREEMAN)
