Samsam to take oath before Belmonte
CEBU, Philippines - Congressman-elect Gerald Anthony “Samsam†Gullas of Cebu’s first district will take his oath as member of the incoming 16th Congress before Speaker Feliciano “Sonny†Belmonte Jr. today.
The term of Samsam’s grandfather, outgoing first district representative Eduardo Gullas, will end at noon of June 30.
The older Gullas was the one who requested Belmonte to officiate the oath-taking of his grandson.
“We saw that it is fitting that he will administer my oath,†Samsam said who ran unopposed and got 112,925 votes during last May’s elections.
Samsam said that one of his priority bills will be the creation of a national high school in Barangay Campo 4 in Talisay City.
He said he saw the need to build a high school in the Campo 4 while doing his campaign sorties.
Samsam said that establishing Campo 4 National High School is expected to give more students a chance to go back to school and they no longer need not to go to the neighboring barangay of Jaclupan. (FREEMAN)
