Cebu’s peace and order lauded
CEBU, Philippines - United Nationalist Alliance senatorial candidate Margarita “Tingting†Delos Reyes Cojuangco is all praises of Cebu’s peace and order and good investment climate as evidenced by tourists coming in and with no kidnapping cases.
“Pretty good. Tourists are coming here. You have nice hotels here. Business establishments are sprouting and wala kayong cases of kidnapping,†Cojuangco said when asked about her impression of Cebu’s peace and order situation. Cojuangco visited The FREEMAN offices the other day.
Cojuangco, whose nickname “Tingting†distributed “miniature broomstick†or “walis tingting†that symbolizes her intention to wipe out the country’s dirt if she gets elected.
Cojuanco, aunt of President Benigno “Noynoy†Aquino, III, said that it is her main agenda to promote public safety in the country to invite more investors to come.
“If a place is not safe, who will invest? If the public is not safety, our country will be in disorder,†said the former Tarlac governor and who has served as the president of the Philippine Public Safety College for eight years.
Cojuangco holds a masters degree on National Security Administration. She likewise holds a doctorate in Criminology and Philippine History.
“Sympathy and knowledge are qualities that one should have in running this country,†said Cojuangco, who admitted that she is not satisfied the handling of the President of the Sabah crisis.
Cojuagco said that first and foremost, the Filipinos (in Sabah) have to be protected and not threatened them with lawsuits.
With the ongoing controversy between the Philippines and Malaysia on the disputed Sabah claim, Cojuangco said, it is best to bring the matter to the International Court of Justice for a final resolution. —/FPL (FREEMAN)
