Police official shoots daughter’s BF dead
CEBU, Philippines - The deputy police chief in Bogo City was arrested after he allegedly shot and killed the boyfriend of his daughter at a shanty near his residence in Barangay Guadalupe, Bogo City yesterday afternoon.
Chief Insp. Ceferino Tabay reportedly opened fire at Vincent Paul Montesclaros, 17, using a .45 caliber pistol, hitting the victim in the head and chest.
Montesclaros was rushed to the Bogo City Provincial Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Montesclaros was said to be the boyfriend of Tabay’s daughter, also a minor.
Supt. Anthony Bagarinao, chief of the Bogo City Police Station, said Tabay was on duty when he decided to go home due to an important matter.
It was at this juncture when Tabay saw his daughter with her nose bleeding at a shanty near their house, together with Montesclaros.
Bagarinao said that upon seeing Tabay, Montesclaros suddenly moved as if about to pull something from his waist, prompting Tabay to draw his pistol and shoot Montesclaros.
Tabay, who was later arrested, is now detained at the Bogo City Police Station stockade.
Bagarinao said they would conduct thorough investigation into the incident.
