Tomas to partymates Kusug endorsement yes, but no rallies
CEBU, Philippines - Bando Osmeña Pundok Kauswagan leader Rep. Tomas Osmeña said while he cannot stop Kugi Uswag Sugbo from endorsing some of his party mates, he has barred said endorsed party mates from joining in Kusug activities.
KUSUG earlier announced their endorsement for Team Rama candidates Mayor Michael Rama for mayor, councilor Edgar Labella for vice mayor, Aristotle Batuhan for south district representative and Annabelle Rama for north district representative. They will later announce their list of councilors.
During the formal endorsement, Kusug president Raymond Garcia earlier said their list of endorsed councilors is a mix of the both BOPK and Team Rama candidates.
Raymond said that they will prioritize active Kusug members naming Cogon-Pardo barangay captain Eugenio Gabuya Jr. who belongs to BOPK.
Gabuya has not formally tendered his resignation from Kusug, created by former city mayor Alvin Garcia, and has openly announced during sorties that he is affiliated with Kusug, Raymond earlier said.
But Gabuya clarified that despite the formal endorsement from Kusug, he will not be joining their rallies.
Osmeña said joining the activity will do no good for Gabuya’s candidacy. Gabuya previously ran for council but lost in both the 2007 and 2010 elections. — (FREEMAN)
