TESDA App launched
CEBU, Philippines - The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) went live on mobile devices with the launch of the TESDA App, aimed to make information on technical vocational education and training easily accessible.
The free application is initially available for any device running on Google’s Android Operating System and can be downloaded through Google Play.
TESDA director general Joel Villanueva, in his recent visit to Cebu, said that the TESDA App will have information on the agency’s programs and services, as well as the training institutions with TESDA-approved courses offerings, their locations and contact details.
“We launched TESDA App to make our agency more accessible to the public,†said Villanueva in a press conference.
It also has the latest news on TESDA programs, scholarships and other services.
“Being able to reach people to get information on technical, vocational education and training wherever they are provides a whole new level of speed, efficiency and convenience to promoting TESDA services,†said Villanueva in a separate press statement.
To download, launch the Google Play app from the device, then tap on the search button and enter the keyword “TESDA.†From a list of search results, tap on the item “TESDA†by Nueca Technologies,†then select the install button to install the TESDA app in the device.
The statement added that the App can be used in offline mode after the database has been downloaded to the phone. The App may be used to search for available courses and contact details of the school.
However, to use the News feed and Map function, one needs to be connected to the internet.
The TESDA App is currently available for devices running on Android. The iOS version of the App, which is used in Apple gadgets, will be available on iTunes once Apple has approved the App. — /MIT (FREEMAN)
