CEBU, Philippines - One died and two others were injured in a vehicular accident involving two motorcycles on the provincial road of Barangay Jomgao, Argao, around 10:00 in the evening last Saturday.

Fernando Montejo Remoroza, 59, married and a resident of Barangay Panadtaran, was declared dead on arrival at the Isidro C. Kintanar Memorial Hospital after sustaining severe injuries in different parts of his body.

Also injured were Reuel Enbalzado, 34, of Barangay Catang, and his back rider, Adriano Saquilabon Amor. Both sustained minor injuries and were no longer taken to the hospital.

Enbalzado was reportedly under the influence of liquor but police did not confirm such pending results of the liquor test.

Prior to the incident, Remoroza was onboard his red-colored Motoposh motorcycle, without plate number, travelling towards Barangay Poblacion from Barangay Panad-taran.

Enbalzado was also on board his blue-colored Honda motorcycle (7DU923) and was heading home from Barangay Canbanwa.

PO3 Rodrigo Teo, of the Argao Police Station, said that upon reaching a slightly curved portion of the road, Enbalzado encroached on the opposite lane and failed to notice the approaching motorcycle which resulted to the incident.

Teo said the victims slumped on the road when Enbalzado sideswiped Remoroza causing them injuries.

Enbalzado was arrested by the responding police and is now detained at the Argao police stockade pending a case for Reckless Imprudence resulting to Homicide.  (FREEMAN)
