CCPO prepares for AGI
CEBU, Philippines - From field performance to office records, the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) is now 90 percent ready for Camp Crame’s Annual General Inspection- Operational Readiness Security Inspection Test and Evaluation (AGI-ORSITE) on Monday.
Supt. Carmelo Dayon, chief of the Cebu City Public Safety Company, said its mother headquarters, the Police Regional Office (PRO) 7, is vying for the number one post in the AGI so they have been preparing for it since August.
“The inspection is expected to be more serious and meticulous. Tanang mga provinces under PRO 7 are preparing very religiously to observe the Standard Operating Procedures of a police operation,” Dayon said.
CCPO police officers conducted their last practice yesterday which included scenarios like the conduct of checkpoints, bank robbery and hostage-taking, among others.
“So this will be to measure the operational readiness of our police office in responding to such crisis,” said Dayon.
AGI inspection, Dayon said, is a time to check lapses or suggest improvements that will no longer be noticed during actual scenarios. Equipment such as firearms, ammunitions, bullet proof vests, and shields will also be checked, he said.
“So kani siya is not only to check how capable our police force is but also to force our government that all the needed equipment for the PNP will be provided,” Dayon further said.
The inspection will also include checking of the office records such as case folders, blotters and other police documents in CCPO as well as in police stations.
For last year’s AGI inspection, CCPO won as the best city police station and best CCPSC.
The awarding for this year’s contest will be held during the PNP Foundation Day on February next year at the PNP national office in Camp Crame. — (FREEMAN)
