From Dec. 9 to 11 NBI to serve towns in Bantayan for 3 days
CEBU, Philippines - The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has granted the request of the local government units of Bantayan Island to hold mobile office for three days in the three towns of Bantayan, Sta. Fe and Madridejos.
Madridejos councilor Emie Mates Gabito told The FREEMAN that she was informed yesterday by NBI-7 regional director Edward Villarta of the positive response from their central office on the said request.
NBI will be in Madridejos on December 9, Banta-yan on December 10 and Sta. Fe on December 11, 2012, at their respective town halls.
Gabito said it is good news for all job applicants and professionals because NBI services will be at their doorstep.
The Public Employment Service Office (PESO) in Madridejos, of which Gabito is the manager under the office of Mayor Salvador dela Fuente, initiated the project that will help solve job seekers’ problems and anybody who are interested to secure an NBI clearance for documentation purposes or requirements.
“Considering the distance of these three island municipalities from mainland Cebu, coupled with the cost of transportation fares, most of our professionals and job seekers find it difficult to comply whatever documentary requirements are asked of them by their probable hiring employers,” Gabito said.
Gabito, who is also the president of the Cebu Association of PESO Managers (CAPESOM), said that this is the very reason why they requested and made representation at the NBI head office in Manila and Cebu to have a mobile NBI office in Bantayan Island.
Gabito reminded interested individuals who wish to secure NBI clearances they needed right away to prepare P115.
The undertaking is in close coordination with the PESO Manager of Bantayan, Mely Negapatan, under the office of Mayor Ian Christopher Escario; Councilor Louwela Pacilan and Mayor Jennifer Illustrisimo of Sta Fe, and the CAPESOM.
Gabito added that this is the first time in the history of Bantayan that NBI will bring their services to the people. — (FREEMAN)
