4 trucks loaded with sand, limestone held by PENRO
CEBU, Philippines - The Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) – Capitol Monitoring Team has apprehended four trucks loaded with sand and limestone last Thursday afternoon during a checkpoint in Liloan and Compostela. The trucks were reportedly hauling sand and limestone using tampered delivery receipts while others have no delivery receipts at all.
These are violations of Provincial Ordinance 2008-10, otherwise known as the Revenue Code of Cebu.
Apprehended in barangay Tamiao, Compostela, were Fuso Fighter mini dump trucks bearing plate number YJA 867 loaded with limestone driven by Ronie Morre of barangay Poblacion and YJO 217 driven by Marito Capua of barangay Dapdap, all of the said town.
Apprehended in barangay Cotcot, Liloan, was an Isuzu Forward truck bearing plate number GSE 353, loaded with ordinary sand and driven by Chito Pumar of Cambayog, Compostela while an Isuzu dump truck, with plate number YKV 288, loaded with limestone was driven by Rene Garces of Ylaya, Cotcot, Liloan. All the conveyance and minerals were turned over to the barangay hall of Cotcot, Liloan, for safekeeping pending investigation.
A certain Mario Danlag, a representative of Lilibeth Perales of Poblacion, Compostela, who owned the truck with plate number YJA 867, appeared yesterday at the PENRO-Capitol to pay the administrative fine of P10,000.
Also, a certain Chito Pumar, a representative of Venerando Pumar of Cambayog, Compostela, who owned the truck with plate number GSE 353 also appeared at the PENRO-Capitol yesterday so the truck could be released. (FREEMAN)
