Recamara’s suspension deferred due to Calungsod thanksgiving

Ria Mae Y. Booc - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 director Marcelo Garbo deferred the suspension of Talisay City Police Chief  Eddie Recamara because of his role in the security plan during the thanksgiving mass of St. Pedro Calungsod on November 30.

Garbo earlier signed Recamara’s 15-day suspension order but said it will only take effect after the activity.

Recamara was found guilty of an administrative case filed against him by Danao City Prosecutor Jose Dionisio Kyamko last year.

Recamara was assigned as chief of the Danao City Police before he was transferred to Talisay City.

Kyamko accused Recamara of fabricating evidence against a drug pusher who was arrested in an operation.

Recamara was charged for serious irregularity and conduct unbecoming of an officer.

Recamara refused to give comment on the issue.

Cebu Provincial Police Office Director Senior Supt. Patrocinio Comendador  said Recamara is performing well as the head of the Talisay City Police.

In fact, the police station was awarded as the best police station in Central Visayas for low crime rate.

At present, Recamara’s biggest  challenge is to arrest Joavan Fernandez, the notorious son of Talisay City Mayor Socrates Fernandez, who recently figured in another shooting incident.

Garbo said Fernandez is a consistent problem of the law enforcement agency and they are not going to tolerate his acts.

“Hindi papayagan natin na may mga taong ganyan at ‘yung kapulisan natin ay patuloy na naghahanap sa kanya,” Garbo said.  (FREEMAN)
