CEBU, Philippines - The 16-year old girl accused of killing her one year and six months old daughter is now facing parricide charges before the Cebu Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.
Last Friday, Police Inspector Henry Orbiso, officer-in-charge of the Moalboal Police Station, filed the criminal charge against the mother who will then be made to answer the allegations filed against her as the complaint is subject to preliminary investigation.
Aside from the complaint, Orbiso attached the affidavits of the minor’s grandmother and uncle. Also submitted were the police report, death certificate and the picture of the child.
In her affidavit, the 63-year-old grandmother, also from Moalboal town said the incident happened on September 30, 2012, at around 5:30 p.m. inside their house.
The grandmother said she was outside removing coconut husk when she heard a scream from inside.
“Acting on the said scream I immediately verified inside, I was very shocked when I saw the two referring to (mother and daughter) bathed in blood…the mother armed with a knife with blood stain,” the affidavit reads.
The grandmother said she shouted for help and brought her great grandchild to Moalboal Health Center but the attending physician pronounced her dead on arrival. She added that her granddaughter was also brought to Badian District Hospital then transferred to Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC).
She said the affidavit she executed signifies their intention to file a complaint against her granddaughter (respondent).
The uncle, in his affidavit, said that in the last week of September 2012, his mother noticed that the respondent kept on crying particularly in the evening and no longer slept.
He claimed they found out that the respondent has a “mental disorder.”
He said that last Sept. 30, while he was inside the house, he heard his mother shout for help. When he responded, he saw the victim blooded inside his mother’s house.— /MIT (FREEMAN)
