Caminero: Argawanons confused of Sim K

- The Philippine Star

CEBU, Philippines - Provincial Board Member Wilfredo Caminero who is seeking a congressional seat in the second district claimed that the people in Argao are confused why his fellow Argawanon is running against him.

While he admitted losing the votes of the family of former second district Rep. Simeon Kintanar but Caminero belittled its impact to his candidacy saying that the Kintanars themselves are divided.

“Si Sim K seriously speaking even the Argawanons cannot understand, wa kasabot niya ngano nga modagan siya, unsa iya gibasehan ug unsa iya gibalikan (the Argawanons are confused why Sim K is running, what is his motive),” Caminero said.

Caminero however said that Sim K’s return could also be viewed a blessing in disguise for the people of Argao because those who do not want to vote for him and reelectionist Rep. Pablo Garcia will have an alternative candidate.

Caminero is the official candidate of the Liberal Party. He took over the party’s district chairmanship from Sim K’s niece, Cora Lou Kintanar.

Cora Lou lost to Caminero in the selection process of LP for the congressional candidacy. Earlier, Caminero hit Sim K for claiming that he was endorsed by former Chief Justice Hilario Davide Jr., father of LP’s gubernatorial bet, Hilario III.

Caminero insisted that he is the one being endorsed by the former Chief Justice. In fact, he was with him during the filing of the certificate of candidacy at the Commission on Elections (Comelec) provincial office. —/FPL (FREEMAN)
