Nito Durano wants Danao City placed under COMELEC control
CEBU, Philippines - Danao City Vice Mayor Ramon “Nito” Durano III yesterday said he will ask the Commission on Elections to place Danao City under Comelec control.
Nito Durano, who filed his Certificate of Candidacy for Mayor against his brother reelectionist Mayor Ramon “Boy” Durano Jr., said that based on the previous elections, there are election-related incidents that happened in Danao City.
Durano hopes that Comelec will act on his request to ensure peace and order in Danao City in the coming elections.
Fifth District Rep. Ramon “Red” Durano VI, who is seeking the vice mayoralty post, shared his father’s observation and hopes for peaceful elections next year.
Nito’s councilorial slate include Cynthia Duterte, Jerard Almendras, Celso Meca, Jose Thaddeus Roble, Jovelina Enriquez, Jorge John Cane, Rodrigo Giango, Carmen Durano-Meca, Alejandro Lawas and Roland Reyes.
On the other hand, Boy Durano’s running mate is former mayor Jesus Don Durano and his councilorial slate include Maureen Zamora, Porferio Codinera, Antonio Lawas, Elden Batiquin, Calvin Tuadles, Michael Enriquez, Noe Law, Jr., Nelson Capoy, Salvador Almagro Jr., and Rogelio Quindao. (FREEMAN)
