CEBU, Philippines - Borbon Mayor Bernard “Butch” Sepulveda positively looks forward not only for another sweep in the 2013 elections, but for their town’s development after businessman Michel Lhuillier extended his full support to the said local government unit.
“Modesty aside, I am confident that me and party will win again,” said Sepulveda who is running under the Barug Alang sa Kaugmaon ug Demokrasya (Bakud)-Liberal Party during a courtesy call on Lhuillier after he and his ticket filed their Certificate of Candidacy.
Sepulveda’s lineup is almost the same as the last elections except for Roy Melgo who will replace his father who is now on his last term as councilor.
With M.Lhuillier’s backings again, Sepulveda looks forward to the development of eco-tourism industry in their area as well as the generation of other livelihood projects and the improvement of education system in their town.
“We’re just fortunate that one of the choices of Michel Lhuillier is Borbon,” Sepulveda added.
Borbon is best for eco-sports tourism industry based on its geographic location and its peaceful environment.
The farthest mountain barangay is just 10 minutes away from the beaches, thus, tourists can enjoy both at the same time.
“When you go inside Borbon, it’s green and peaceful,” Sepulveda said.
Once Borbon will be developed as a regular tourist destination, it also means more income for the LGU which Sepulveda said will be dedicated to livelihood programs to augment the living condition of the locals.—(FREEMAN)
