CEBU, Philippines - Four persons, one of them a police official, were injured in a vehicular accident involving two motorcycles on the national highway in Barangay Poblacion, Alegria town, at 7:30 p.m. the other night

Senior Insp. Patrocinio Baylosis, 53, and his elder sister, Rosita Jomuad, 62, both of Barangay San Roque, suffered injuries in different parts of their body and were rushed to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City.

Johannes Aaron Cardona, 15, and James Libradilla, 16, were also taken to the Perpetual Soccour Hospital in Cebu City.

Prior to the incident, Baylosis, assigned to the Provincial Public Safety Company of the Cebu Provincial Police Office, and Jomuad were on board a Honda XRM motorcycle with license plate numbers 3033YQ heading to the Reinhard Wirtgen Memorial Hospital to visit their older brother who is confined in the said hospital.

Another XRM motorcycle with license plate numbers 6103GC driven by Cardona with passengers Libradilla and Joseph Felisan, 15, all from Sitio Malubog, Barangay Poblacion, was traveling in the opposite direction.

SPO1 Renato Abellar Jr., of the Alegria Police Station, said Baylosis was about to turn left when Cardona’s motorcycle hit them. All victims were thrown to the pavement.

Abellar said none of the victims appeared to be under the influence of liquor.

“Well-lighted man pud ang dalan, disgrasya lang gyud to,” Abellar said.

Abellar added that Cardona was driving without a license. Cardona and his two companions were not also wearing helmets at the time.

The motorcycles of the victims are now under the custody of the police. –(FREEMAN)
