CEBU, Philippines - Minglanilla Vice Mayor Lani Peña will be running for mayor under the administration party while Councilor Robert John “Jojo” Selma, son of incumbent mayor Eduardo Selma, will be his runningmate.
The administration party of Minglanilla announced its complete slate yesterday.
They will be filing their certificate of candidacy on Oct. 5, 2012 at 8:30 a.m.
Prior to the filing, a mass will be held at 7 a.m. at the municipal hall.
Jojo said yesterday that their group will be under the local party, Alayon, of first district Rep. Eduardo Gullas.
Mayor Selma is already in his last term and decided to run as councilor.
Jojo said his father was supposed to rest from politics but decided to run upon the request of their group.
The other councilors under their ticket are incumbent councilors Samuel Adlawan Jr., Rajiv Enad and Loben Geonzon; Jimmy Caumeran; Tungkil Barangay Captain and Association of the Barangay Captain (ABC) President Manolo Delgado; Edwin Quiapo and Roy Nacario.
Jojo said before their group finalized their slate, they invited the opposition group to join them but they refused. (FREEMAN)
