Escario Ext. soon to be two-way
CEBU, Philippines - The newly-widened Escario Extension will soon be opened to two-way traffic according to Mayor Michael Rama yesterday.
Rama assured that the electric posts in the middle of the road will be removed soon and he already instructed the City Traffic Operations and Management (CITOM) to work on making the road two-way.
Rama said he ordered Citom executive assistant Joy Tumulak to strictly monitor the progress of the work.
Rama’s administration was earlier criticized for his failure to have the electric posts with spaghetti wires removed from the center of the road.
“They’re working on it. I have to check,” he said.
Meanwhile, Rama criticized the lack of passable roads in going to the upland relocation sites.
He said he had been to the Kadasig relocation site in Barangay Tisa twice and he almost fell from the motorcycle he was riding because the road was very bumpy.
Upland resettlement areas like in La Guardia also have similar problems, he said.
“Ipatubag na nila nganong naabot ta dihang dapita,” he said referring to the previous administration of then mayor Tomas Osmeña.
But Rama said he already addressed the problem by providing better roads to the residents of these relocation sites. (FREEMAN)
