CEBU, Philippines - Four suspected drug pushers were arrested by the authorities in separate drug operations in the cities of Naga and Cebu last Saturday.
In the first incident, Alfie Alberto, 32, was arrested by the Naga City police who came to his house with a search warrant around 7 a.m. in Barangay South Poblacion.
Confiscated from him were drug paraphernalia, two small packets of shabu and 40 pieces medium packets with shabu residue.
Two of his alleged accomplices were able to escape after they saw policemen coming.
Alberto, who allegedly started selling shabu just last July, did not resist arrest. He is now detained at the Naga Police Station stockade.
Juolisa Reyes and Edrisa Obrero, both of Barangay Bulacao, Cebu City, were arrested by the operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency -7 during a buy-bust operation shortly after noon.
Reyes was found with a medium packet of shabu and P740 believed to be drug money while Obrero yielded another medium packet of shabu worth P2,000.
Both are now detained at the PDEA-7 stockade.
Two hours later, Joel Barcenas, 42, of Spolarium St., Barangay Duljo-Fatima, Cebu City was also arrested by the PDEA-7.
Confiscated from him were two packets of shabu, several drug paraphernalia and the P200 marked money.
He was tagged as a Level 1 drug pusher who can sell up to P75,000 worth of shabu in a week.
Operatives said they only confiscated two packets of shabu because Barcenas already sold some of his drugs before the operation was conducted.
Violations for Section 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 will be filed against Reyes and Obrero. Another case for Section 5, 11, and 12 will be filed against Barcenas. — (FREEMAN)
