Bankers club initiate training for guards

CEBU, Philippines - Close to 40 bank guards and armored car escorts graduated yesterday from a six-day training initiated by the Cebu Bankers Club.

Lawyer Michelle Palmares, training director of Centurion Security Training Academy that conducted the training, said the guards underwent a Comprehensive Bank and Armored Security Training Course. The training was held for three weekends.

“It’s a specialized training on securing banks and armored vans hosted by the Cebu Bankers Club. CBC wanted the guards to be trained kay critical ang ilang trabaho,” Palmares said, adding that they aim to conduct more than one training every year.

Palmares, also general manager of Centurion Security Agency, Inc., said that the 36 graduates comprised a group of security agencies providing security for banks and armored cars.

The closing ceremony was held at the Police Regional Office 7 multi-purpose hall.

PRO 7, Palmares added, also provided instructors and supervised the training which was held at the different areas of Cebu for the lecture and hands-on training.

The lawyer said this is the first batch of bank guards and armored cars security escorts that underwent the said training. They will host the same for another batch within the year.

The graduates were affiliated with Centurion Security Agency, Inc., Golden Sun Security Agency, Password Security Agency, and Davao Security and Investigation Agency, Inc. (DASIA) based in Davao, which also offers service in Region 7.  (FREEMAN)
