Teenager shot to death in Carcar

- Ria Mae Y. Booc - The Philippine Star

CEBU, Philippines - An 18-year-old woman was shot dead by an unidentified person while at a videoke house along Dr. Cesar St., Barangay Poblacion I, Carcar City early morning yesterday.

Mysa Plarisan, of Sitio Cogon, succumbed to two gunshot wounds and was rushed to the Carcar Provincial Hospital but she died a few minutes later.

Plarisan reportedly had an argument with another customer at the said videoke house before she was shot. The man allegedly threatened to return to the videoke house for her.

Insp. Andres Alpas, deputy chief of the Carcar City Police Station, said Plarisan was with four companions having a drinking session while the man was also with another group.

Police revealed that the man mocked Plarisan’s group which started the altercation. Plarisan and the man were apparently under the influence of liquor at that time.

“Di man sad gud kuno ni palupig og lalis bataa gud, musukol gyud,” Alpas said in a phone interview. (She is known as one who never backs out of an argument.)

Amid the altercation, the man and his three companions left the videoke house on a motorcycle. Minutes later, a motorcycle-in-tandem arrived at the scene. The man in pillion pulled out a revolver and open fired. Plarisan went out of the videoke house and checked.

At this juncture, two other bursts of gunfire rang out. Pla-risan was then seen sprawled on the ground with gunshot wounds in the chest and left arm.

Alpas said she was shot at close range.

No evidence was recovered.

Police said they still have to locate the companions of Plarisan as they never went home, probably hiding out of fear for their lives.  (FREEMAN)
