- Niña G. Sumacot-Abenoja - The Philippine Star

CEBU, Philippines - A 16-year-old boy killed his neighbor in Barangay Cogon, Pardo Sunday evening after the latter accused him of stealing a rice cooker.

Rico (real name withheld for being a minor) stabbed Alexes Bildad, 30, in the body several times causing his immediate death. Investigation shows that Rico chased Bildad with a knife following a confrontation where the victim accused the minor of stealing their rice cooker.

Bildad, who sustained stabbed wounds in the right side of his chest, left shoulder, right upper leg, and left knee, fell on the ground and died on the spot.

Rico then fled and proceeded to his aunt’s house. He was taken by his brother to the Cebu City Medical Center for a stabbed wound on his back, which he also sustained during the scuffle with the victim, where he was arrested by the members of the Pardo Police Station.

Barely two hours later, a young man shot his stepfather dead in sitio Balang Kapuna, Barangay Sambag Uno. Police are now on the hunt for Richard Roxas, 21, who fled after killing his stepfather Clyde Sulla, 44.

Roxas’ mother, Amelia Alcos, 48, told the police that she was already lying on bed with Clyde and their son when the suspect emerged from the window and without any provocation shot the victim.

Roxas fled on foot towards the interior portion of the sitio while Alcos called for help from their neighbors. Sulla succumbed to a gunshot wound in the right side of the face.     - THE FREEMAN
