Two people killed in separate motorcycle accidents

CEBU, Philippines - An old woman and a man were killed after they were hit by a motorcycle in two separate incidents in Toledo City and Dalaguete town last Friday.

Police are now looking for a driver who fled right after he hit and killed an octogenarian along the national highway in Sitio Sto. Niño, Toledo City, last Friday night.

Lolita Cabonita, 82, died before she could be brought to the hospital after she was hit by a motorcycle.

Cabonita, a resident of the place, was crossing the road past 7 p.m. when she was hit by the motorcycle. The driver did not bother to stop and instead sped off towards Toledo City.

The victim suffered injuries in the different parts of her body after being thrown into the pavement.

She was rushed to the Balamban District Hospital for treatment but doctors declared her dead on arrival.

An hour earlier, a 56-year-old man died after he was also hit by a motorcycle along the national highway in Barangay Tapon, Dalaguete town.
