Guv lauds success of Caballo de Compostela Festival

CEBU, Philippines - Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia yesterday lauded the administration of Compostela Mayor Joel Quiño for the revival and the success of the Caballo de Compostela Festival.

Garcia said she was happy with the success of the festival and the support of all barangay officials, school officials, municipal officials and the people of Compostela.

“Nalipay kaayo ko nga si Mayor Quiño ug ang atong mga opisyal sa lungsod sa Compostela nagpakabana gayud sa pagpabalik sa atong Caballo De Compostela Festival ug ang dakong kalampusan niini karon gumikan sa gipakita nga pagtinabangay, panaghiusa sa katawhan sa lungsod sa Compostela (I am very happy that Mayor Quiño and the town officials have shown concern to revive our Caballo de Compostela Festival and its success today was a product of the cooperation of the people of Compostela),” Garcia said.

The governor said it shows the good leadership of Quiño and the support of the town officials, barangay officials, different sectors and the people of Compostela.

Garcia expressed her happiness of the success of the festival by giving out P300,000 financial assistance to the town and promised another P500,000 to the barangays that participated in the event.

Fifth District Rep. Ramon “Red” Durano VI also congratulated Quiño’s administration. He also took the opportunity to announce to the people that he has allocated a total of P9.1 million to Compostela for various projects.

Quiño said he was also happy for the support of Garcia and Durano.—(FREEMAN)
