American nabbed for 'causing trouble'

CEBU, Philippines - An American was arrested by the police and charged with oral defamation by his neighbor in Hernan Cortes St., Barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City, last Monday, after allegedly making trouble.

William Stephan “Spider” Ledesma II, 48, from Gilroy, California, USA, but temporarily living with his live-in partner in an apartment in Subangdaku, was arrested after he allegedly damaged the windshield of Ann Cielo Colina’s car and then threatened her.

Subangdaku Police station chief Insp. Ramil Morpos said that the suspect allegedly got mad after the roosters of neighbors woke him up around 3 a.m. last Monday.

The suspect went out of his apartment and began throwing stones randomly and hit the windshield of the parked Honda Civic owned by Colina, 31.

When she went out to confront him Ledesma reportedly called her an “idiot” and a “bitch” and threatened to “smack her face”.

After the suspect threatened her, Colina called the police who came to arrest Ledesma.

Morpos added it was the second time that Ledesma was detained in the Subangdaku Police Station, the first was after he smashed the windshield of a taxi that almost hit him while he was walking.

Morpos said he will be coordinating with the NBI and Interpol to check if the suspect has other records as his neighbors also complained of his unruly behavior.

Aside from being invited to try out for the LA Clippers, Ledesma was also once a member of the FIBA of Cyprus and has participated in international competitions such as NCAA, Los Angeles Summer Pro-League and National Superior Basketball.

He is currently the CEO of the Native American National Team. – (FREEMAN)
