CEBU, Philippines - Isolated One Cebu member Daanbantayan Mayor Ma. Luisa Loot sympathized members of Barug Alang sa Kauswagan ug Demokrasya (Bakud) in the fifth district who did not attend the State of the Province Address of Governor Gwendolyn Garcia last Friday.
In an interview over DyDD Bantay Radyo, Loot admitted having received an invitation from the Capitol including her barangay captains.
Loot said that the invitation surprised them because they were no longer invited in the past two years when their relationship with the governor turned sour.
Loot and her son, Provincial Board Member Sun Shimura, ran under One Cebu Party led by Garcia in 2007 and 2010 elections.
“Akong giingnan ang mga kapitan unsa pa ma’y kapuslanan nga molili ta sa iyang Sopa nga katapusan naman niya,” said Loot over the radio. (I told the barangay captains that there’s no use attending her SOPA because it’s her last.)
Her son, Shimura, however, attended the Sopa.
Loot lamented that Garcia no longer gave projects and neglected Daanbantayan.
If Bakud members did not attend the Sopa because of politics, Loot said she is with them, pointing out that they were invited only now.
Vice Governor Agnes Magpale and other Bakud members did not attend the Sopa for fear that it would become a political rally when some personalities were present. (FREEMAN)
